DetailThis Taylor Custom Grand Concert acoustic-electric guitar boasts back and sides of A-grade figured Hawaiian koa in a four-piece configuration with a Simons wedge, a sinker redwood top, and V-Class interior bracing. The Taylor ES2 electronics feature a built-in TaylorSense unit. Custom appointments include a Faceted single-ring rosette in shell and Hawaiian koa with a bound soundhole, Hawaiian koa body binding, genuine West African ebony fretboard binding, stained bone bridge pins with awabhi dots, and polished bronze tuners. Other features include S-Curve fretboard inlays in shell and Hawaiian koa, and a full-body silent satin finish. A Taylor Deluxe hardshell case is included for maximum protection. About the Grand ConcertTaylor's Grand Concert is slightly smaller than the Grand Auditorium and yields controlled overtones, so the sound won't occupy a lot of sonic space. This is often a key consideration when other instruments are in the mix, such as in a performance or recording environment, and it allows the guitar to be heard more clearly.Tonewood PairingSinker Redwood is less dense than spruce and as a result produces a warm, played-in sound. Its midrange bloom adds a nice complexity to the guitar's tone, and it responds well to a lighter picking/strumming attack.V-Class BracingTaylor's V-Class bracing is essentially a "sonic engine" that optimizes the response of an acoustic guitar in three key ways: by boosting volume, sustain, and by largely resolving the intonation (in-tune-ness) issues that have long plagued acoustic guitars. V-Class bracing creates purer, more orderly notes that don't cancel each other out or sound "off.?They have clearer, more consistent response, and the whole fretboard is brought into greater sonic alignment for a more musical playing/listening experience. Guitars with V-Class bracing are easier to tune; the pitch sounds purer and more solid, and electronic tuners can more easily locate notes for quick, precise tuning. ElectronicsThe heart of Taylor’s Expression System 2 electronics is Taylor’s patented behind-the-saddle pickup, which features three uniquely positioned and individually calibrated pickup sensors. Because the pickup doesn't sit under the saddle, the bottom of the saddle comes in full contact with the bridge, allowing all the nuance of the guitar's tone to come through clearly whether playing acoustically or plugged in. The location of the sensors enables a more dynamic range of acoustic sound to be captured than ever before while playing plugged in. Together with Taylor’s custom-designed “professional audio?grade preamp, this system produces exceptional amplified tone and responsiveness. The Taylor Expression System 2 operates through a proprietary 9-volt battery compartment and easy-to-use volume, and active bass and treble controls. TaylorSense is a healthcare monitoring system that monitors your guitars humidity level, temperature, and alerts you of any physical impacts to alert you to check for damage.
