Tama Drums is motivated to continue to develop new and improved products that allow drummers to break past their sonic ambitions and inspire them to achieve a whole new level of musical art. With that in mind, Tama’s innovative research and development team had a clear vision when they set out to design the HH905H Remote Hi-Hat Stand: To create the smoothest and most precise action as possible—without any latency—and combine that responsive feel with Iron Cobra stability and durability.Accomplishing this task was difficult for a number of reasons, including the fact that the remote cable must need to physically bend to fit into most drum setups. After extensive research, trial and error, Tama was able to source a hi-tech cable manufactured by JAGWIRE�? a company that produces technical brake cables for the some of the world’s best mountain bikes. Working with JAGWIRE, Tama’s engineers designed a proprietary cable that has a gliding feel with virtually no latency. Included on the cable are small tension rod connectors to allow it to attach to tension rods and prevents the cable from sagging for a clean set-up.The responsive pedal feel is driven by Tama’s sure-footed Iron Cobra 900 series Hi-hat pedal, which was modified with a tripod size reduction to allow for tight footboard placement. The upper arm remote assembly includes Tama’s 5-way tension adjustment to allow each drummer to customize their own feel. Also included is a telescoping and rotating clamping system that clamps onto any vertical pipe (such as a cymbal stand), is capable of extending out away from the pipe and has rotating ratchet to provide multiple angle adjustment for the cymbal playing surface. Also included is a dedicated hardware bag with separate pouch for the clamp.
