DetailThe JP-2C rackmount guitar tube head from Mesa/Boogie is the signature amp head of Dream Theater's John Petrucci. The JP-2C is also a next-generation re-issue of the legendary Mark IIC+ amp with an enhanced feature set which is the result of a three decade collaboration between Mesa and John Petrucci. The rackmount JP-2C features a stripped-down design focused on efficiency and simplicity. It's a purpose-built, no-compromise rendering that aims to deliver an aggressive, pure sounding IIC+ in a versatile package. With the highest headroom clean sound possible, a crunch rhythm with lead channel gain available and a Boogie lead channel with access to even more saturation, this signature John Petrucci amp offers the options modern guitarists require without overwhelming controls. The JP-2C tube head foregoes the concept of multiple voicing modes and instead dedicates each of the three channels exclusively to circuit voicings of the Mark IIC+, including Shred Mode. Channel 1 is dedicated to clean sounds and is optimized for maximum headroom. Channel 2 is the JP-2C's crunch generator and is all about aggressive, tight overdriven rhythm sounds delivered with amounts of gain usually associated with lead modes or channels. Channel 3 is for soaring leads, explosive attack and blistering sustain with a warm, fat character suitable for any style. In both Channels 2 and 3, the Volume 1 Control and Lead Master Control have been removed in favor of simplicity.
