DetailUnleash a torrent of polyrhythmic creativity with the Behringer Spice—an analog semi-modular synthesizer designed for creating mind-bending sequences and textures. With its two voltage-controlled oscillators, each packing square and sawtooth waves plus two sub-harmonic oscillators, you can layer and stack massive, pseudo-polyphonic sounds. Manipulate these complex tones through the 24dB ladder filter, complete with cutoff, resonance and envelope controls for bold, resonant sculpting. Ignite Intricate Rhythmic Patterns At the core of the Spice are dual 4-step analog sequencers clocked by four polyrhythm generators. While the math behind these sequencers is complex, all you need to focus on is dialing in those hypnotic, interlocking rhythms and grooves. The variable quantizers allow you to explore microtonal intervals and exotic tunings, while the multiple clocking sources—including MIDI/USB for external sync—enable you to integrate the Spice's intricate sequences into your broader rig. Semi-Modular Flexibility Although the Spice is a powerhouse on its own, its semi-modular architecture means you can easily expand its sonic capabilities by patching into other Eurorack modules. The 16x16 I/O matrix provides a staggering number of patch points, allowing you to tap into additional oscillators, filters, effects and more from your modular ecosystem. This level of flexibility transforms the Spice from an exceptional monosynth into a multi-timbral hub for your entire modular setup. Hands-on Control Over Every Parameter With a sprawling panel packed with 57 knobs and switches, the Spice puts you in direct control over its vast array of sound-shaping parameters. Tweak the VCO levels, sculpt the filter's cutoff and resonance, shape the envelopes' attack and decay stages—every critical component is readily accessible for on-the-fly tweaking and performance. This level of real-time command translates to a highly expressive, improvisational playing experience. Instant Inspiration With Comprehensive Features Along with its core sound engine and semi-modular flexibility, the Spice is loaded with smart features to spark creativity. Its comprehensive MIDI implementation allows for channel selection and voice priority. The manual and clock-syncable tempo controls keep everything in tight synchronization. And while the pre-patched signal flow requires no cables to get started, experienced synthesists will appreciate the Spice's virtually limitless patching potential.
