From the creators of REV and Signal comes one of the most unique virtual instruments ever created. Output's Exhale is an exhilarating vocal engine for today's modern producer. Exhale's groundbreaking technology takes vocal phrases and runs them through a gauntlet of manipulation features including tempo synching fx, stutters, delays, pads, loops, saturation, macros, motion, flux and more. Output hired some of the top producers to record hundreds of vocalists and an entire choir resulting in a load of a raw, slightly imperfect sound material. Then they hired 21 expert sound designers over a six month period to manipulate the raw recordings using vintage analog gear, vocoders, tape machines and anything else they could find to transform each vocal track into a modern, playable vocal instrument. Exhale manipulates the over 10GB of raw material and turns it into one powerful, playable vocal engine built for producers, composers, artists and sound designers. There are 500 stunning presets divided into three playable modes, which are Notes, Loops and Slices. Notes Mode blurs the line between vocals and synth by chromatically mapping the sound source across the keyboard, resulting in beautiful pads, electro vocals, tape saturated sounds, glitch and more that can all be played as scales, chords and melodies. Loops Mode works a bit differently by mapping 13 loops per preset across 13 keys on the keyboard, each with infinite starting points for you to perform and alter. Slice Mode is similar to Loop Mode in that there are 13 different sounds mapped across 13 keys from C2 to C3, but in Slices Mode each sound has been sliced up into multiple different bits creating a whole new set of creative ways to play the sounds. All three mode benefit from Exhale's tag-style browser that lets you efficiently filter down the presets quickly o find the right sound for your project, and every preset has four macro sliders that allow you to manipulate the main character of your sound.
