DetailThe 1973 Deluxe is a high-end yet affordable large-diaphragm condenser mic that gives you world-class build quality and a handcrafted capsule for an unbeatable value. Like the other mics in the Soyuz line, the 1973 Deluxe is a modern classic, not a copy or clone. It's made the old-fashioned way with meticulous attention to detail. A Unique Capsule With Punch The 1973 Deluxe features a version of Soyuz's acclaimed S23 capsule, also found in their 023 Bomblet mic. The S23 is a one-of-a-kind capsule with an interesting history. In the 1970s, LOMO redesigned an AKG CK12 capsule and gave it three backplates for more consistency. In 2015, Soyuz's engineers reengineered it for the 023 Bomblet and adapted it again for the 1973 Deluxe. It delivers the same smooth response and punchy character that has made it renowned. Custom Resonator Reduces Unwanted Resonance The 1973 Deluxe has a custom resonator that cuts down unwanted resonance and provides some plosive protection, making the mic ideal for vocals, voiceovers and podcasts. The resonator's design makes this mic perfect for miking in hard-to-reach spots and for taking on the road with any recording setup or live performance. The 1973 Deluxe is rugged, compact and built to last a lifetime. Pads for High-Volume Sources The 1973 Deluxe offers -10dB and -20dB pads so it can handle high-volume sources like kick drums and guitar amps. Despite its transformerless design and ultralow self-noise, it still has what people call the "Soyuz sound"—lows that are solid but not boomy, mids that are forward but not boxed in and highs that are open and airy without harshness. A Modern Classic for Serious Recordists With world-class design and components at an affordable price, the 1973 Deluxe gives serious musicians and engineers a modern condenser mic that recalls the golden age of recording. Its handcrafted capsule and resonator provide a smooth, balanced timbre that suits vocals and instruments. Two pads make it versatile enough for any source. Built to last and ready to capture, the 1973 Deluxe delivers professional results.
