DetailThe OB-X8 synthesizer from Oberheim is an innovative take on their iconic OB-series instruments. With an all-analog signal path, it authentically captures the warm, punchy sound that defined '80s pop and rock. The OB-X8 combines the architectures of the OB-X, OB-Xa and OB-8, giving you access to a huge range of vintage tones. It also comes loaded with classic factory sounds as well as new presets created by expert sound designers. 100 Percent Analog Signal Path Provides Authentic Vintage Tone The OB-X8's 100 percent analog audio path cuts through a mix with the same trademark Oberheim sound used on hits by Van Halen and Rush. From raw waveforms to filter cutoff, every parameter is analog, engineered to capture the nuances and character of the original synths. The result is an authentic renewal of an analog classic. Combines Three Iconic Synth Architectures The OB-X8 combines the voice architectures of the OB-X, OB-Xa and OB-8 into a single, powerful instrument. Each model's filter types, envelope contours and other unique qualities have been faithfully recreated, giving you the full range of OB sounds in one synthesizer. You can even mix elements from different models to create sounds not possible with the originals. Premium Keyboard and Expressive Performance Controls For expressive performances reminiscent of the original OB synths, the OB-X8 features a premium Fatar keyboard with velocity and aftertouch sensitivity. Performance controls like the pitch bend and modulation levers let you create filter sweeps, vibrato and more in real time. An arpeggiator can generate rhythmic chord patterns to accompany your playing. Bi-timbral Capability for Complex Sounds The OB-X8 is bi-timbral, allowing you to layer or split two different synth sounds across the keyboard. You can adjust the panning and volume of each sound independently for a huge range of textures. With so many parameters to tweak, the OB-X8 gives you the tools to create truly unique and complex analog sounds.
