DetailThe SABIAN STRATUS Cirro Stax cymbal produces a loose, wavy tone with a striking phaser effect. Featuring a 12" top that's raw on one side and lathed on the other, it gives you control over your attack and sustain. Keep it tight for a quick, articulate sound or loosen it up for a wild sizzle. The raw 12" bottom provides a solid foundation. On its own, the top cymbal creates a psychedelic phasing quality that will inspire your creativity. A Loose, Flexible Design The STRATUS Cirro Stax's ingenious construction is key to its unique tone. Its lathed top cymbal has lower tension for a loose, flexible feel under your stick. You can tighten or loosen the wingnut at the center to adjust how freely the cymbal vibrates. Loosen it up all the way for a fluttering, ocean-like whoosh or tighten it to shorten the sustain for rapid-fire rhythms. However you set it, the STRATUS Cirro Stax responds with musical sensitivity to your touch. A Solid Foundation From the Flat Bottom Cymbal Providing a solid foundation, the 12" bottom cymbal has a flat, raw surface. This cymbal gives you a clean, focused tone to balance the expressiveness of the top cymbal. Use the cymbals together for a versatile set that can handle a range of musical styles. The combination of top and bottom cymbals allows you to create unique hybrid sounds by mixing raw, unlathed tones with the shimmer of the lathed top cymbal. Use the Top Cymbal Alone for a Striking Phaser Effect The 12" top cymbal can also be used on its own to produce a dramatic phaser effect. Its innovative design and blend of raw and lathed surfaces generate complex overtones that sweep through the sonic spectrum. When played with mallets or in a loose, wavy fashion, the top cymbal alone provides a striking tonal palette for crafting highly experimental sounds. The STRATUS Cirro Stax gives you versatility for both traditional and avant-garde styles.
