DetailThe Ibanez SRMS625EX 5-string multi-scale electric bass is a heavy-hitting axe that delivers bone-rattling, earth-shattering tone. It features entirely blacked-out looks and supercharged electronics for a dual visual and sonic statement. Shred with tonal clarity and superior attack thanks to the Okoume body and 5-piece maple/walnut neck, topped with an Ebonol fingerboard—a synthetic material made from layers of black paper and phenolic resin—for a tight, bright sound. Medium-sized frets ensure the accuracy of your notes while the multi-scale construction ergonomically coordinates the way your hand angles as it moves up and down the neck, facilitating quick, comfortable playing action. The different fret-to-bridge distances also enhance tonality, creating a better sounding bass. Its sound is driven by a set of Bartolini BH2 pickups, which provide a tight bottom-end, punchy mid-range and smooth response. The dual-coil style configuration maximizes articulation, and a long blade pole piece widens the magnetic field, providing balanced string-to-string pickup response. The EQ bypass control offers precision tonal adjustments, including a switch to choose passive-only operation. When the EQ bypass is activated, the treble tone control knob becomes the global tone control for the passive circuit. Customize your sound further with the Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band EQ, featuring Boost and Cut for the Mid Control that are each centered on slightly different frequencies—an innovation that delivers a preset range of the most favorable bass tones. Additional appointments include an MR5 bridge for maximum string vibration, and a 3-way Mid frequency switch to change the mid-tone between 250, 450, and 700 Hz.
