DetailThe Ampeg Rocket Bass 108 is a 30-watt combo amp that's perfect for practice. Weighing 23 pounds, it has enough mass for thick bass lines, but it's not so heavy that you can't move it from room to room. You'll also be able to shape your sound with overdrive and a 3-band EQ. Read on to find out if you're ready to blast off with a Rocket. Power and Performance The 108 features 30 watts of solid-state power, making it ideal for working out riffs and practicing to stay in the pocket. If you want to jam, the 108 combo can keep up with a 7-watt guitar amp (bass amps require two to four times the wattage, because lower frequencies take more power to amplify). The Rocket Bass sports an efficient 8" speaker; porting in the back of the amp provides an extended bass response for a deeper tone. Shape Your Sound The RB 108 includes Ampeg's signature 3-band EQ, allowing you to tweak your bass, mid-range and treble with precision. The Super Grit Overdrive produces warm overtones when you play quietly, and more aggressive distortion as you increase the gain. Thanks to the top-mounted controls, it's also simple to change settings on the fly. The Ins and Outs If you want to play along with your favorite band, Ampeg makes it easy. Just plug any audio source into the auxiliary input. A headphone out gives you the freedom to practice anytime without disturbing those who might not appreciate your rock ’n?roll lifestyle. The Rocket Bass 108 has classic Ampeg style and sound You can't write about music history without mentioning Ampeg. From the Portaflex—its first bass combo in 1960—to today's Rocket Bass, more players are falling for the Ampeg sound. If you've been looking for a practical bass combo for practice, the 108 might just check all of your boxes.
