DetailThe Fender Shields Blender effects pedal resurrects a hallowed fuzz circuit from the 1970s and builds upon its tonal foundation. Developed over four years with alternative rock innovator Kevin Shields, the Fender Shields Blender provides two channels of fuzz that can be blended together or with a suboctave fuzz. Its hand-traced circuit is derived from Shields' own vintage Fender Blender, capturing that era's fuzz splatter and unruly dynamics. Four footswitches unlock the Shields Blender's sonic capabilities, allowing you to toggle between fuzz channels, engage a beefy suboctave fuzz and introduce stuttering, sputtering sag effects by adjusting your playing intensity. Two Fuzz Channels, Endlessly Blendable The Shields Blender features two channels of fuzz, each with its own level control, that can be used independently or blended together. Dial in a light fuzz on Channel 1 and a more saturated fuzz on Channel 2, then blend them to create shifting, layered fuzz tones. With the sag control, the fuzz channels react to your pick attack and volume knob adjustments, adding a dimension of responsiveness not found in typical fuzz pedals. Suboctave Fuzz Provides Monstrous Bass Engage the Shields Blender's suboctave fuzz for a beefy, monstrous bass fuzz tone an octave below your input signal. Blend the suboctave fuzz with either fuzz channel or both channels together, to craft enormous walls of fuzz with a solid low-end foundation. The suboctave fuzz adds depth, fullness and an aggressive quality to your fuzz tones. Sag Control Manipulates Fuzz Dynamics The Shields Blender's sag control alters the pedal's fuzz dynamics and compression, allowing you to make the fuzz bloom, sputter and react to your playing intensity. At minimum sag settings, the fuzz remains fairly consistent. As you increase the sag, the fuzz becomes more sensitive to your pick attack and volume adjustments, blooming and compressing in response. Fully counter-clockwise sag settings yield a Velcro-like fuzz rip, while more subtle sag adjustments introduce dynamic texture and responsiveness. The sag control provides a range of fuzz effects you can't achieve with any other pedal. Vintage-Inspired Design and Circuitry Beyond its wealth of tonal capabilities, the Shields Blender features a vintage-inspired design with premium components throughout. Its hand-traced circuit is derived directly from Kevin Shields' own 1970s Fender Blender, providing an authentic tone and experience. With intuitive, rugged footswitches and controls, the Shields Blender is built to inspire creativity at every turn.
